Çanakkale Youth Workshop Presented at Çanakkale Municipal Provincial Council

The final report of the Çanakkale Youth Workshop, held on June 7-8-9, 2024, was presented yesterday at the Çanakkale Municipal Provincial Council meeting. The report, prepared by Oral TOĞA, Founding President of KAF | Center for Cultural Research and Activities, and published under KAF | Publications, was presented to the Mayor and council members by Görkem ÖNAL, the General Coordinator of the workshop and Founding Member of KAF | Center for Cultural Research and Activities.

The presentation, which was attended by volunteers from other workshop partners including Çanakkale Bicycle Platform, Çanakkale 1915 Scouting Sports Club, Çanakkale Koza Youth Association, and Community Support Association, as well as with great interest and participation from youth, informed council members about the purpose, scope, and results of the event. The views, expectations, and solution proposals of young people regarding city life, as included in the report, were shared in detail. Particular emphasis was placed on the issues raised by youth and their proposed solutions in areas such as education, employment, culture-art, transportation, and environment.

The presentation of the workshop report at the Municipal Provincial Council was considered an important step in terms of having the voice of youth heard at the local government level and their ideas being taken into consideration. Following the presentation, it was decided that the report would be examined in detail by the relevant municipal committees.
